I absolutely love photographing engagement sessions for my couples! There are numerous benefits to having an engagement session done with their wedding photographer, and I advise all of my couples to consider having a session with me!

1. This is our time to work together and get to know each other before the wedding day! Engagement sessions are not typically the first interaction with my couples. (I usually first meet the couple for a consultation.) But, it is the first time I get to photograph the couple. It benefits both of us to work together prior to the wedding day in a fun and relaxed environment. We get to learn how to interact with each other. I get to learn more about how they met and how they fell in love. We get to see what works and what doesn’t. We get to discover each other’s style and vision.

2. Trust. There is a huge level of trust couples put into their wedding photographer to capture every moment of their wedding day artistically and correctly. I find that when I photograph an engagement session with a couple, they are so much more comfortable with me on their wedding day! They know how I work, how I shoot, and most importantly, they know they will love their images because they can trust me and my work.

3. It is a fun date! Engagement sessions can be a unique and fun date! When was the last time you both stared into each others eyes for a few minutes straight? Well, you get to do that and many other poses that inspire lots of laughter and love for about one to two hours with me! You get to venture to a significant location in your relationship or discover a new place together, and I just tag along and capture every moment of it! Get ready for lots of hand holding, kissing and PDA! Hehe.

4. Engagement photos have multiple uses – save the dates, prints at the wedding, etc. Often engagement photos are used on save the dates, which are either postcards or magnets sent to guests and family prior to the formal invitations being sent out. Engagement photos can also be printed and displayed at the wedding or at home. They can also be printed in a guest signature book for the wedding. There is something so special about the excitement a newly engaged couple has and it’s definitely a time in your life that you’ll want to cherish!

Engagement sessions can be added to any of my wedding packages! Your engagement photos will be delivered to you via a PASS gallery. PASS is an app for a smart phone but is also accessible through a unique URL on a desktop internet browser as well. Through PASS, you will have the options to download the images, share through multiple social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest), and email the images!

If you are not interested in an engagement session, that is perfectly fine too! You can decide whether you want the session or not.

If you have any further questions about engagement sessions and my wedding packages, click the inquire button at the top of my web page!

PS – I love sessions that include furry family members! I adore dogs and many other types of animals and are very welcome to be a part of your engagement session!
